Rugosa Hybrid ('Schneezerg' seedling)
3'

A wonderful rose which seems to improve with age. I believe it would be several feet larger in the ground than it is in the barrels I've confined it to. Foliage is very rugose, but smaller than most, and very healthy. White with the slightest touch of blush, but the buds are a much deeper pink. Two-inch blossoms are lightly fragrant with a classic old rose perfume.

The real Henry Hudson was a 17th century English explorer obsessed with finding the Northwest Passage. His expedition was the first ever to overwinter in arctic Canada. How appropriate - this rose is hardy to zone 2! Lots more information about the Canadian Explorer Series roses at the Canadian Rose Society web site.
