Eglanteria
Eglanteria
(Linnaeus, Sweden, 1551)

Species
12'

If I had an enormous garden, I would surround it with a hedge of Eglanteria. I've compromised by planting it upwind and near a window. The foliage does indeed smell like green apples, and the fragrance carries across the entire garden, especially after a rain. Blooms once in late spring, with clusters of tiny 1" 5-petal blossoms.
